Hello everyone,
I’m new to website development and I’m looking for some guidance on how to set up a basic website on my local server. I’ve installed a local server (using XAMPP) on my computer, and I’ve managed to get the server up and running. However, I’m struggling to understand the next steps in setting up my website.
At this point, I have some basic HTML and CSS files that I want to test on my local server. I’ve placed them in the correct directory (htdocs in XAMPP), but when I try to access the website through localhost, nothing shows up. I’ve double-checked the file names and paths, and they seem correct.
Could someone please explain what I might be missing? Do I need to configure something else in the server settings, or is there an issue with how I’m trying to access the files? Also, if anyone has suggestions on any basic resources or tutorials for someone just starting, that would be greatly appreciated!
