Resolved. As of hrev51449 yab is broken.

in hrev51449 BControlLook was changed. The change that added the tabs on the side removed the reliance on BControlLook. So until I get another release done, http://yab.orgfree.com/GetLatest-yab.zip is your friend.

I did notice the other day that the BUildFactory was malfunctioning. Sorry, didn't take note of the hrev. Binding still worked and I was in a hurry.

new version recipe in haikuports... https://github.com/haikuports/haikuports/pull/1706 I need to wait until the x86_gcc2h version of haiku is completely fixed before I can update the version in the fatelk repo.

yab 1.7.5.5 and yab-IDE 2.2.8 work on recent nightlies and are packaged on the haikuports repo.
